‘Happy customers are our priority’

Our Values

Impressions Uniform, based in Standish has been providing Schoolwear to parents in Wigan for over 40 years (previously as Standish Sports and Uniforms). Current owner Caeryn Collins took over 10 years ago and since then we have re-branded and opened a second shop in Golborne and a new branch opens in Leyland in January 2021. During this time, we have developed a set of values that are intrinsic to everything we do. You can read more about us here.

VV - Customer Service

Unswerving commitment to outstanding customer service

This is more than your ‘have a nice day’ type of customer service.  Our goal is to make uniform shopping hassle free! We are constantly listening to our customers, thinking of new ways to support them through the process and get to the goal of hassle free! These include service from well trained staff, availability of stock in the shops, a full web service supported by our awesome delivery service and an appointment system for our fitting service.  We have a customer panel to ensure our customers can have their say on the garments we use and the services we offer.

VV - Ethics pur buy supl

Commitment to Ethics that make a difference as a purchaser, supplier, and an employer

We currently purchase around 80% of our products through certified ethical suppliers.  Our target is to make this 100% of all the clothing we supply by 2025. Our most noteworthy recent work is to launch our Community Interest Company aimed at recycling pre-worn Schoolwear to sell on. Money raised by the CIC also helps to provide uniforms packages to support families struggling to provide uniforms for their children.

VV - community

Supporting the communities in which we work

We currently support our communities in several ways.  We offer work experience opportunities, support local charities, and support other local business. Our CIC will benefit excluded families by providing school uniform to families regardless of income.

VV - staff

Commitment to investing in our staff

We are aiming to adhere to the Greater Manchester Good Employers charter.  We currently have one apprentice and have previously trained an apprentice who is now in employment with us.

VV - planet

Commitment to our planet

We also have a sustainability policy that ensures the protection of our planet is considered in all of our decisions.  We recycle locally, drive a hybrid car, by eco-friendly consumables where possible, prioritise the purchase of Eco-friendly garments and much more (the boss is a bit of a tree-hugger!)

VV - schools

Our relationship with our schools

We have an excellent relationship with our schools (and can provide references) working with them regularly to update on new products and services designed to meet their requirements.  All of our decisions are taken with full consideration of our partnership with our schools.
