Eco Schoolwear

Sustainability at Impressions is core to our business.  It was a no brainer as the boss is a self-confessed tree hugger and can always be found enjoying nature on her relatively limited time off! It’s impact has been huge – from growth through brand strength to cost savings through better procurement.

But we put our customers at the heart of this too.  Yes, our sweatshirts may be a
little more expensive than the ones you buy from a supermarket but as my Nan
used to say ‘you buy cheap you buy twice’ You see we choose our garments for
their quality and durability – to ensure they last long after they have been
grown out of.  To allow you to pass on to siblings, friends or strangers –
to ultimately avoid landfill.

We also only choose suppliers that manufacture to the highest standards. Companies like One + All, Banner, David Luke and Winterbottom.  Where garments are made sustainability and where the triple bottom line of people
planet and profit is considered. You can read more about one of our suppliers using the button below.

How are we doing our bit?

We take this responsibility seriously – We reuse as mush as our plastic and cardboard as possible and take much of our plastic to a local plant to be recycled into products for the construction industry.  We have installed LED lights and automatic light switches, drive hybrid or electric, reduce journeys where possible, employ local people and so much more.  We switched to using 100% renewable electricity as we can’t have solar panels on our buildings as we rent.  We incentivise our staff to cut waste too – (we have actually banned single use plastic from the buildings) but reward them for bringing in food and drinks from home in reusable containers. We also use chemical free cleaning (in refills), eco friendly loo roll and biodegrable bags.

We are carbon literacy trained too and Carbon reduction trained facilitators! – so we
can advise you on your strategy if you are a local business!
